While there is an obvious need to promote your brand on Social Media, you are essentially one of many brands on offer. You can get lots of traffic, but then so does everyone else. It’s the equivalent of all the brands vying for attention in a supermarket. Having your brand’s own website is like having your own shop, wherever the client looks, there’s you. Less traffic, but more engagement with your visitors, this can build loyal and reccuring customers and clients.
